The short version
- Recipes live on your device. Sync is optional and off unless you sign in.
- No account is required to use the app.
- We do not sell data and we do not run ads.
- You can export everything and delete everything, without contacting us.
What we collect
Without an account (the default): nothing. The app works entirely offline and every recipe, meal plan, and setting stays on your device.
If you sign in with Google or Apple to enable sync, we collect only what those features require:
- Your name and email address, as provided by your OAuth provider, to identify your account.
- The recipes, photos, and app data you choose to sync, so they reach your other devices.
- Purchase receipts from Google Play and the App Store, processed through RevenueCat, so we can honour your subscription.
- An anonymous device identifier, used only for subscription management.
What we never collect
Recipe Spellbook ships with no analytics and no third-party trackers. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not follow you across other apps or sites.
Where your recipes live
By default everything is stored locally on your device. When you turn on sync, your content is copied to our cloud storage so it can reach your other devices. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS, and cloud-stored data is encrypted at rest.
Third parties
RevenueCat processes subscription and purchase data; see revenuecat.com/privacy. Google and Apple handle sign-in and payment processing under their own privacy policies. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Children
Recipe Spellbook is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. This matches the age declarations in our store listings.
Your rights
Export and deletion are both self serve inside the app, so you do not have to email anyone to get your data or to get rid of it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Where the law grants additional rights, we honour them and aim to respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
