Recipe Spellbook ("the App") is developed and operated by Affluent Labs. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Without an account (default): The App works entirely offline. We do not collect any personal information. All recipes, meal plans, and settings are stored locally on your device.
With an account (optional): If you choose to sign in via Google or Apple OAuth, we collect:
- Name and email address (from your OAuth provider)
- Recipes, photos, and app data you choose to sync
- Purchase history (processed by RevenueCat and Google Play / Apple)
- Anonymous device identifiers (for subscription management)
- Nutrition data (calculated from recipe ingredients — calories, macros, allergens)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide app functionality: syncing recipes across devices, managing your subscription, and enabling cloud features. We do not sell your data, serve ads, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
RevenueCat processes subscription and purchase data. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Google and Apple handle authentication and payment processing under their respective privacy policies.
Health & Nutrition Data
The App calculates and displays nutritional information (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber, sugar, sodium) and allergen warnings based on recipe ingredients. This data is:
- Generated locally on your device from ingredient databases
- Stored locally on your device by default
- Synced to our servers only if you opt into Cloud Sync
- Used solely to display nutrition information and allergen warnings within the App
- Never shared with third parties
- Never used for advertising, health profiling, or any purpose beyond in-app display
We do not collect, store, or process health data from external sources such as health apps, fitness trackers, or medical records. All nutrition data is derived entirely from recipe ingredients you enter or import.
Data Storage & Security
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS. Cloud-stored data is encrypted at rest. We follow industry best practices for data security.
Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. See our Delete Account page for details.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
